Writers/Researchers WANTED!

We have an ongoing need for a number of writers/researchers

The following will tell you how you can write review articles for us and get paid.

If you surf the internet regularly and can write a simple 40-word website synopsis effectively, then, this could be an easy way for you to make some extra cash to supplement your income.

The articles that we need must be easy to read and understand and should be easy to write. The purpose of these articles is to help guide our website visitors find what they might be searching for quickly.

Each review article must be focused on a single topic as indicated by the keyword(s) at the top of each page. Each review article will have 400 words approximately. Each article should consist of ten website synopsis/reviews of 40 words each, on average and NOT exactly.

We have many websites that need to have these articles written. We also have other needs for these websites such as helping small businesses to get listed on our websites. Some of the details are described here or on the city or state based websites. These are opportunities for our writers to make extra income while helping small businesses get listed on our websites.

By "writer/researcher" we are emphasizing that doing 'research' is an important part of your job if you choose to do work for us.

This page contains:
  • the requirements and specifications of the articles that we need and will accept
  • a list of websites and URLs that we need articles for
  • how to communicate with us
  • how to get started
  • how to get paid
We are not looking for creative writing at the moment. At a later time, we might have a need for writers to write e-books, newsletters, or website columns on specific topics that you might have experience or expertise in.

This page is updated regularly to answer questions from all of our many writers and is where and how we communicate with all of our writers. Please check back here often.

Types of Websites

There are three types of websites that we need articles written:
  • Topic websites
  • State-based websites
  • City-based websites

Topic websites

Topic websites are based on a specific topic such as fund raising, tanning beds, dating, etc. We have about 10 topic websites.

State-based websites

State-based websites are based on local interests, businesses, and websites for the state. We have one website for each state. The list of state-based websites is at: http://www.1-usaonline.com/

City-based websites

City-based websites are based on local interests, businesses, and websites for the city. We have about 50 city-based websites. All city-based websites are linked from the state-based websites.

  19. PASS - directory http://www.b4-u-eat.com/houston/restaurants/reviews/rsv0776.asp
  20. Write a 40 word synopsis http://www.simposiorestaurant.com/honors.html
You may also write a 40 word synopsis about any other website or URL, on that page, that is relevant/related to the keyword of that page.

The reasons for NOT writing a synopsis and PASS if a website or URL is:
  1. bad or invalid links/URLs
  2. directory websites (they are similar to our websites and are our competitors)
  3. in a wrong category/keyword - websites that are not directly relevant to the topic/key words
In this example, this means any website or URL that does not lead to a website of an Italian Restaurant in Houston. You may PASS on a directory listing of an Italian Restaurant in Houston. You may also PASS on a page about an Italian Restaurant in Houston but it is on an unrelated website such as:
    http://www.plumeria.org/Contributors/Patrenella/Patrenella.htm.
In this example, there are 9 URLs that we will write a sysnopsis for but you maight decide to write for less on the list but write about other URLs on the page.

The synopsis that you write should not be a restaraunt (in this example) review but should be a website review. Website reviews give our vsitors an idea about what they might find at the listed URL. In your synopsis,

The synopsis should tell the reader how useful and how relevant each of the the website/webpage is to the topic/keyword(s) or not.

Please write something that adds to but not include the text under the URL.

What you write is to suplement the text description that is already on the targeted page. The page looks like this before any synopsis is added:

http://www.everyoneswebhosting.com/writers/italian-restaurant-houston-step-4.html

Step 5. Submit your article. The synopsis that you write and submit and are paid for are the text within the '[' and ']'

Example (item 4 below): [ A website of a local Italian Restaurant in midtown Houston. The Italian Restaurant website has the restaurant's menu, wine list, and even a payment authorization form online. This website has many bad links.]
  1. PASS - directory
  2. PASS - domain expired 1/1/2006
  3. PASS - directory
  4. 40 word synopsis of http://www.damians.com/
[ A website of a local Italian Restaurant in midtown Houston. The Italian Restaurant website has the restaurant's menu, wine list, and even a payment authorization form online. This website has many bad links.]

  16. 40 word synopsis of http://www.patrenellas.net/
[ A very nicely done website of a local Houston Italian Restaurant and a Family Restaurant. Good use of gaphics and simple design makes this enjoyable to visit this Italian Restaurant website. ]
  17. PASS - directory
  18. PASS - directory
  19. PASS - directory
  20. 40 word synopsis of http://www.simposiorestaurant.com/honors.html
[ A simple 10-page website of a local Houston Italian Restaurant. This honors page lists awards given to the Simposia Italian Restaurant in Houston. ]
Step 6. We format your article and post it. The bad URLs or directory service URLs will most likely be all removed. The link below shows an example of the finished page based on the submitted text (by the writer) in Step 5 above.

http://www.everyoneswebhosting.com/writers/italian-restaurant-houston-step-6.html

This example is for illustration only and should not be used as a benchmark or standard of the quality of articles that we will accept. The number of words does not need to be exactly 40 words each as long as the total is about 400 words.

The example above is for an inside page only.
If you want to write for a home page of a website, such as
http://www.1-houston.com/,
please read the details below and see the examples for a home page.
Please always let us know which URL that you will be writing for before you begin to write.
Thank you!

The job/position is probably better described as
'Virtual Librarian'
or
'Search Assistant'

[search as in Search Engine]

Consider each of our websites as a 'Virtual Library' or a section in a 'Virtual Library' and represents a topic or category. Each webpage or URL on that website is a sub-topic.

The articles that we want to have written are to help visitors find what they might be looking for, so, it might say something like:

"if you are looking for information about how to join the Miss USA Pageant, you might find it at . . . , but if you are one of the contestants that might be looking for help to have a winning smile, you might want to go . . ., but if you are just trying to find out who won in 1998 or who entered this years contest or who is the most favored winner this year, then, you might want to . . . "

As a 'Virtual Librarian' you must develop and maintain knowledge and expertise of the 'virtual books' in your category, topic and sub-topics. You also need to monitor and keep up with changes to your assigned website.

Our goal, purpose and objective for our websites are to:

Serve our visitors by providing them with well organized, cataloged, and illustrated/annotated "Virtual Libraries".

In contrast, the search engines will appear to be very disorganized and chaotic book stores where books are just tossed around.

"Virtual Librarians" anyone?

RESEARCH and PREPARATION:

First of all, please check out the websites "Virtual Library" and determine "where you might want to work". The "Virtual Books" are all websites that show up in that "Virtual Library". The "inventory" of the "Virtual Library will change and the "Virtual Librarian" need to maintain an updated knowledge of what is currently in the "Virtual Library" and write updates as needed.

Please first go to: http://www.1-usaonline.com/ which lists all state-based websites. Then go to the state-based websites. Some state-based websites link to city-based websites. Please check out the city-based websites where you live.

The following are some topic websites that we need articles and contents added:

http://www.hobbytoincome.com

http://www.scholarship-grants-loans.com

http://www.acne-help-today.com

http://www.fundraisingatoz.com/

http://www.debt-consolidation-report.com/

http://www.car-transport-reviews.com/

http://www.rebates4u.biz/

Please browse through these websites and determine which topics that you might know something about or interested in doing research on.

Our main focus is use of keyword(s) in the articles. The keyword at the top of each web page represents the topic of that page. Articles we need are synopsis of the websites found on that page. Each page typically has 20 to 30 website URLs. Some website URLs actually don't really relate to the topic of that page and we do not want to write about them and might even want to remove them. An example is an invalid URL. Also, we do not want to write about directory websites because that is what we are.

The article that you submit MUST make good use of the keyword(s) for the selected page.

Pease note: For usaonline, states, and cities the main focus and need are public/government information for U.S.A., the state, or the city.

For each of these websites, there are secondary variations for each page. We expect that your 'research' begins by looking for public, non-copyrighted information (published by the government and paid for by tax payers and is generally not copyrighted). For these sites, we need URLs and a brief statement about what might one find there. The number of words for payment purposes ($5/400-word article) does not apply to this information and will depend on the value and difficulty in its discovery. We try to compensate for your time and effort fairly. Please provide us with an estimate before you proceed to dig/search for public information.

The main themes for these websites will be

1. family/work/job/community/safety/government/businesses

2. travel/recreation/entertainment/arts/museum/historic.

For these cases/websites, original writing should have a soft/personal touch such as feelings and opinions.

REQUIREMENTS for ACCEPTABLE ARTICLES:

Please pick a page and write with this in mind as a sample for me. Please also include the keyword(s) and the URL for the page that you send in.

The articles that we will accept must:
  1. Optimize the use of keyword(s) and effectively provide relevant and useful information
  2. be correct and easy to read using simple sentences and simple words
We pay by PayPal only . FAQ - Q & A:

Question: How do I get paid?

Answer: We pay by PayPal only. If you do not have a PayPal account, go to: PayPal Account and get one there. We need articles for that site as well but maybe a little later.

Question: How do I get started?

Answer:
  1. read the instructions carefully
  2. choose a website that you want to write for
  3. tell us which website or URL so that we do not have several writers writing for the same URL
  4. write an article and send it to us
Question: What do you need before you would pay me?

Answer: Send us all of the following in one e-mail:
  1. completed article in plain text - no attachments please!
  2. the URL that the article is for
  3. the amount to pay (if different from $5, please state our prior agreement) and your PayPal e-mail account
  4. how do you want your profession information posted (name and short bio)
Question: Can I write multiple articles for multiple websites or URL all at once?

Answer: No, not the first one. Besides, we would like to limit the number of writers for each website so that each writer becomes knowledgeable about the website's subject matter and contents. If writers pick and choose and write about many websites, we would not be able to manage our websites.

Question: How many articles can I write? Can I write 5 a week (or 10 a week)?

Answer: It all depends on the result. Since we have many writers started or starting and more inquiries each day, we will need to give those who needs the least guidance and can write the most effective articles top priority to choose what they will write. We also need to gauge the impact that the articles might have on our websites' activities. Your initiative to know a website ('Virtual Library') well and become an expert 'tour guide' 'search assistant' will certainly help your chances of writing more and more articles for the many websites that we need contents for.

Question: Can I start and stop?

Answer: Certainly. This is freelance work, not a job. We do not and could not get into a contract or an employment agreement. You are paid by the piece as they are accepted as soon as they are accepted. Start any time and stop any time. This is perfect even for people who might be over qualified to supplement their income with his/her idle time.

Question: I want to write an e-book for you. Would you pay for an e-book?

Answer: We welcome your suggestions no matter what they might be. However, we do not have a short term need or budget for an e-book unless you are not asking for a lot of money. For any writer who has demonstrated an understanding of a topic area and the information that our visitors might need or want, we could certainly explore the possibility. But, we need to take one step at a time.

Question: Are you interested in articles about 'such and thus' because this is hot!

Answer: If we find that this is indeed a hot topic, we will create webpages or even websites for that and you will be the one writing articles for them.

Question: I sent you an article following your instruction but I am confused. What is wrong with it?

Answer: We need to know what you were going to write about before you do. We do not want several writers writing about the same thing. Besides, we need to effectively use our writers and make one or two dedicated to one website. We could not let writers pick and choose what s/he wants to write without our prior consent.

Question: What is it that you do not like about the article about 1-tennessee.com?

Answer: We apologize for not being clear enough or not articulate enough to explain what we need. For the home page of websites of states such at www.1-tennessee.com or 1-philadelphia.com, what we need is public domain government information. This is information that have been paid by tax payers and are not copy righted (if it is, then it is not what we want).

Many of our visitors are looking for public information that are free but might not be easy to find. This is an example of our purpose, help our visitors 'find their virtual book' in our 'virtual library'.

For home pages of a state or city website, we want the URL and a brief statement of what our visitor might find there. We will go to those sites and do the cut and paste.

These 'articles' will be mostly URLs and the brief statements plus what is necessary to make it read as an article. Word count does not apply here. However, if the information is unusual, valuable, or difficult to find, we would pay accordingly and we rely on your sense of fairness and tell us how much to pay. We need an estimate before the writer goes too far into the searching expedition or digging. We would pay for more than one or two article's ($5 - $10) worth but will still be limited and must be approved in advance. Topics and URLs should be on one of the webpages and therefore we need the URL of our website where you find it.

Examples of writing are: "Do you know you can find/do such and such at . . .", "If you are looking for such and such and might be having trouble finding such and such, you might want to go to:", "If you are wondering about how/where to such and such, we have searched and found them and we are presenting what we found here . . .", "If you could not find such and such please let us know. If we have many requests, we could expedite our search for you"

Question: On state sites, you say, "Please provide us with an estimate?" Does that mean an estimate of how much we are charging you per article? As opposed to the $5 for the now 400 word article?

Answer: Correct. This applies to city sites as well. For example, I was looking for the form to register a Limited Liability Company (LLC) and the form was not easy to find. Once found, the information that you would provide would be just the URL and "download LLC form". If we pay for this information by word count, it would not be fair to you and you would certainly not inclined to find it. Therefore, we want to fairly compensate for your effort. However, it is also necessary to only search for valuable information, and therefore, we need an estimate on what you plan to search and how much that would cost us before you start.

Example of URL and Synopsis ("article" submitted by a freelance writer):
URLs for United States Government Resources, Branches of Government, White House, Library of Congress, U. S. Constitution, Voter Registration, Government Printing Office, National Park Service

Example of Finished Article (using URL and Synopsis submitted, we cut, paste, expand, complete and format the article):
Avian (Bird) Influenza (Flu) Pandemic, Vaccines, and News

Question: Do I determine what key words are according to how often they are used on a site?

Answer: No. We will always specify a page and keywords that we wanted to have an article written. It will be like an order; we would place the order. With the concept or analogy of "Virtual Library", we will place our order with the "Virtual Librarian" as long as he or she maintains an up to date knowledge of his or her topic and the "Virtual Books" therein.

Question: Do I then sporadically place these [key] words often throughout my own text?

Answer: No, ABSOLUTELY NOT. We are taking the time, effort and spending money to provide valuable information. We will NOT do anything that might offend, alienate, annoy or insult our visitors. What we want to make an article, and therefore our content, 'key word rich' is to write with the key words in focus and be a good "Virtual Librarian" or a "Tour Guide". If the key word is "music", we do not want any historical facts about music, but if the key words are "music history" then we do. An analogy to try to explain our philosophy is to look at a menu at a restaurant. If a menu says "Steak", then, beef dishes that cannot be considered "Steak" should not be under that section - although some restaurants want to call a hamburger a "Steak Burger" but who would like that? It would be silly or insulting to the customer.

Again, the articles are meant to help people find what they might be looking for and 'key word rich' articles is the way to make sure that writers are focused on his or her work.

There is a saying, if you put lip sticks on a pig, it is still a pig.

Comment: I found some errors in the article [ . . . ] I am attaching my suggestions to correct it.

Answer: Thank you for your initiative. However, we do not edit articles written by our freelance writers. We only accept or reject an article. Since the article has the writer's name posted, s/he certainly has a strong interest to correct any mistakes. To correct any mistakes, please make correction from the HTML code. Each article will have:

***************************** START COPYING ARTICLE HERE *****************************

******************************* END COPYING ARTICLE ********************************

enclosing the article that we have formatted. We will not reformat an article just to correct or change errors made by the author. We will, however, accept corrections that are made on the formatted html source.

Question: Before we begin, I would like your contact information. Also, I need an agreement. Where do I send one to (working agreement)?

Answer: As stated above, this is for freelance writers. We do not sign any agreements or contracts. Understanding the writer's concern, if you do not want to risk anything, please submit one article at a time. That way, you risk losing $5 for one article in the event that we do not pay for your article. We have no intention to not pay for an article that we try so hard to have written. There is certainly the possibility or probability that the writer thought s/he has done what was asked but the article is not acceptable based on published specification and requirements. We are getting dozens of responses and if we pay every writer for articles that we did not ask for or articles that don't meet our requirements, we will be out of business very soon. On the other hand, we are still eagerly looking for people who will take the time to read the requirements carefully and ask questions to understand our need before submitting articles.

Question: I submitted an article to you. Why haven't you paid me?

Answer: There are two possibilities. The first is that the article does not meet our requirements. The other might be that we did not communicate clearly.

Before we could pay, we need:
  1. an acceptable article (meeting our requirements and was ordered/requested) in plain text - not an attachment (which might have been deleted or blocked)
  2. the URL and keywords that we requested the article for - please use subject line: Article for "[key words]" Teen writer/researcher (e.g., Article for "smokey mountain tennessee" Teen writer/researcher) where the keywords are, you guessed it, "smokey mountain tennessee"
  3. your PayPal e-mail - it might be annoying to include this every time that you submit an article, but, this is the only way for us to pay you.
  4. your brief bio - it might be annoying to include this every time that you submit an article, but, we will not post an article without your bio and we could not be looking through a mountain of e-mails for them either. Sorry.
  5. your indication of whether you would continue to be the "Librarian" of the "Virtual Library" that the website/URL represents
If you are one of the writers who is wondering why you have not been paid, please resubmit your articles if they meet our requirements and include the above information.

Question: Why don't you answer my e-mail?

Answer: We will now answer all e-mails by posting the Q & A here if it is a question that others might also have. After you e-mailed a question, come here and look for the answer unless it is a very specific and personal question. Also, we will no longer open any e-mail IF:

  1. the first name and last name are not in the 'From:' field or in the Subject line
  2. there is an attachment (no attachments please)
  3. the subject line does not have Teen Writer/Researcher (if you are submitting an article, pre-fix with "Article for: xyz", otherwise, post-fix with the topic or your name)

These three (3) things you MUST know or we won't answer your e-mail - no exceptions.

Question: Why don't you pay me (I have sent you everything that you asked for)?

Answer: All required information MUST be in one e-mail. If they are sent separately, we will not pay because we are not able to find all the pieces of information that we need. Besides, the subject line MUST say: "Article for: xyz, Teen Writer/Researcher" so that we know that we need to proof it and pay if accepted (have you ever forget to pay a bill that has been hidden in a pile of paper, newspaper or magazines? Yes, you know the feeling.).

Question: I want to write for Utah, ok?

Answer: We will post the URL of ongoing articles as soon as someone told us that s/he wants to write for it. Once it is posted, you will see that it is taken. Just to make sure, we need the writer to be more of a "Virtual Librarian" and would need him or her to stick around for a while and not skip/hop around from website to website. If a "Virtual Librarian" is replaced because the previous one did not fill/maintain that role, we will put a line "Virtual Librarian Wanted" on top of the existing article and new articles will be written by the new "Virtual Librarian" and placed on top of (not replace) the existing article.

Question: I just wanted to confirm that I do want to write for you [ . . . ] it helped to clarify a lot and really laid out your expectations. I appreciate the last email especially, because this is the first time I had been made aware of any of this. Knowing what is expected of me makes my work a lot easier. [Why didn't you tell me sooner]?

Answer: Until the last few days, I have been frantically trying to answer questions and complaints individually and was unable to handle it. I am glad that this helps.

URLs of ongoing or pending articles:

If you have submitted an article and have not been paid, please submit/resubmit the necessary information as specified and get paid.

If you are working on an article and need more time, please let us know on a weekly basis. If you claimed to write for an URL and we have not heard from you in a week, that URL will be released/reassigned after one week of no e-mail from the writer who claimed to write for it.

New Jersey is more than just clichés and The Sopranos. Yes, there are girls with teased hair, malls everywhere, and, sure, some places may even have that funny odor you hear so much about. But, a lot of New Jersey offers beautiful landscapes, historic areas, and who can forget the Jersey Shore.

As of 2004, New Jersey boasted a population estimated at 8,698,879. It’s considered to be the tenth most populous state, although it is the most densely populated with 1,134.4 residents per square mile.

The Garden State, as it is so known, is divided into three geographic regions: North Jersey, Central Jersey, and South Jersey. North Jersey is greatly influenced by neighboring New York, while South Jersey gets its influence from Philadelphia. Central Jersey, however, is not influenced by another area and his known to be a largely suburban area.

As aforementioned, New Jersey is bordered on the north and northeast by New York. The state’s other borders include the Atlantic Ocean on the east, Delaware on the south, and Pennsylvania on the west.

Prominent features, just to name a few, found in New Jersey are: The Delaware Water Gap, The Meadowlands, The Palisades, The Pine Barrens, The Raritan River, and Sandy Hook.

When describing the sights in New Jersey, one cannot forget the Jersey Shore. Popular shore points include Ocean City, Wildwood, Cape May, Long Beach Island (LBI), Seaside Heights, and Point Pleasant, just to name a few. If you plan to visit for just the day, or want to take a week long vacation, each shore point offers something for everyone.

And who can forget Atlantic City? This shore town offers much more than just the beach. AC’s casinos are a great hotspot for gamblers, club goers, or even those who just want to see a show.

What few may know about New Jersey is that the properties found on the playing board of the popular game Monopoly are named after the streets in Atlantic City.

Another fun fact is that, although seen in other parts of the country, diners are a staple of dining out in New Jersey. It seems that most towns have one, and for those who don’t, there is more than likely a really great one nearby.

Planning to visit New Jersey, or even more there, you can learn more about the state by visiting http://www.state.nj.us/alphaserv.html for a listing of services from A-Z, or http://www.state.nj.us/faqs/index.html for a listing of popular questions and their answers.

The following e-mails might help.

Question: I was thinking about something like this (attached) for the Tennessee home page - to cover the tourist aspect. Then, maybe a seperate box on the page could highlight state statistics and useful facts like you mentioned (education, public safety, child support, etc.) - that box could focus more on living in Tennessee. What do you think?
====================

Answer: For the home page, what you wrote looks great.

I was thinking exactly like you. One good article that is focusing on interesting tourism attractions and then in Boxes, cut and paste materials for important government information.

As far as the government information for home pages, what I need is the following:

1. dig out/find the URL where the information is and verify that it is not copy righted but is public domain

2. indicate what kind of information it is - do not have to cut and paste the whole thing - I will go and get them as well as formatting

3. as appropriate, write a table of contents and what is necessary to bind them together.
====================

Question: Is this the sort of thing you are looking for?

child support - http://www.state.tn.us/humanserv/child_support.htm

driver’s license - http://www.state.tn.us/safety/driverlicense/dlmain.htm

public safety - http://www.state.tn.us/safety/lawenforcmentmain.htm

revenue department - http://www.state.tn.us/revenue/

state parks - http://www.state.tn.us/environment/parks/

employment - http://www.state.tn.us/labor-wfd/
====================

Answer: Yes. I do want a little more - your opinion (in brief) about what might be valuable/important that one could find there and some sense of how easy or difficult to find it.
====================

Question: How's this?

public safety, atorney general, university, secretary of state, driver's license, state park, education department, revenue department, job/employment/unemployment,child support)

child support - http://www.state.tn.us/humanserv/child_support.htm
A wealth of information about locating a parent, establishing paternity, enforcing court orders and collecting payment.

driver’s license - http://www.state.tn.us/safety/driverlicense/dlmain.htm
Provides several links to a variety of driver’s license topics, from how to apply for a license, to driving laws, to an online practice driving test.

public safety - http://www.state.tn.us/safety/lawenforcmentmain.htm
Includes information about the various divisions of Tennessee public safety and links to additional information, including Highway Patrol, Criminal Investigation, and the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy.

revenue department - http://www.state.tn.us/revenue/
A collection of links to various tax forms and recent tax laws.

state parks - http://www.state.tn.us/environment/parks/
Provides links to various Tennessee state parks – broken down into nature parks and historical parks. Also contains links to activities and lodging while staying at state parks.

employment - http://www.state.tn.us/labor-wfd/
Includes the mission statement and links to state employment statistics and services to unemployed workers.
====================

Answer: It is good. But, I only want the not-so-obvious information.

If it is department of public safety, anyone would know that you get information about driver's license.

What's valuable are little know facts and difficult to find URL's.

I hope that make sense.
====================

Question: Is this more like what you want?

child support - http://www.state.tn.us/humanserv/child_support.htm
A wealth of information – provides information on how to locate a missing parent, how to establish paternity in Tennessee, how to enforce child support court orders and how to get help collecting payment – all on one page.

driver’s license - http://www.tennesseeanytime.org/dlpractice/
Test your Tennessee road safety knowledge. Take this practice test to see if you could qualify for a Tennessee state driver’s license.

Driver’s license - http://www.tennessee.gov/safety/publications.htm
Provides a link to the most current downloadable Tennessee Driver’s manual and study guide.

public safety - http://www.state.tn.us/safety/CID.htm
Information about the various divisions of Tennessee public safety as well as the names and contact information for various public safety officials.

revenue department - http://www.state.tn.us/revenue/
A collection of links to current Tennessee state tax forms and recent Tennessee tax laws.

state parks - http://www.state.tn.us/environment/parks/
Provides links to various Tennessee state parks – broken down into nature parks and historical parks. Also contains links to activities and lodging while staying at state parks.

Answer: Yes.

I apologize for being picky or unable to articulate and get to the point about what I want.

Interaction with you does help bring it out of me.

What I want for state/city home page government/public domain information are:

1. URL's to information that people might look for but difficult to find (example: it took me a long time to find the URL to get a form to set up an LLC in Texas - that URL will be useful to visitors). Often government websites are poorly laid out and are very difficult to find things. Digging out important URL's if they are difficult to find is like answering the "Do you know where (how deep, how hidden) they burry this information?"

2. URL's that will answer the top three or five "Do you know" questions - something that people might not know but are important. Often, government agencies do not have the budget/resources/passion to publicize important services or information. That is value that our writers bring.

Thank you for your patience.
====================

Question: This type of project and where you are going with it is new to me, but I think I am starting to see what you are trying to accomplish.

Where would you like me to go from here?

  2. must NOT include attachments - unless this is the only way and agreed upon in advance
  3. must have Teen Writer/Researcher in the subject line - please do not be creative or brief with the subject line
  4. must use a separate e-mail for each project, article, or topic of question. Please do not combine e-mails. For Questions, please put the question (in brief) after "Teen Writer/Researcher
Answers to common questions will be posted here. Questions already answered here will be ignored.

We only answer new questions or private questions by e-mail.

Step 2 - Submit an article and get paid:

  1. Submit one article per e-mail
  2. In additional to the required e-mail format, the subject line MUST begin with: Article "xyz" Teen Writer/Researcher. All additional question or notation MUST come after that
  3. The article and other required information - paypal e-mail, amount (even it is $5 everytime), and bio must be in plain text within the same e-mail
  4. IMPORTANT UPDATE: we now pay $5 for each article - a 'unit of work' which applies to 400 words per article or equivalent. If the subject matter could not be completed within one 'unit of work', we need to know how many 'units of work' that it would require in advance. One 'unit of work' will always result in one article to be delivered and paid. We reserve the right to combine articles for posting.
  5. Each 'unit of work' must be approved in advance - no exceptions.
  6. All approved articles will have the URL posted here. If the URL that you are writing for is not posted, there is a problem. If you are interested in writing for an URL, come here and see if it is taken BEFORE you ask us.

Become knowledgeable about your "Virtual Library" as the "Virtual Librarian" of the URL(s) with your article(s) posted:

  1. You are the "Virtual Librarian" for the URL where your article is the first article at the top.
  2. The "Virtual Librarian" must visit his/her URL at lease once a week. We also need to know the availability or intentions of the "Virtual Librarian" regarding his/her URL, otherwise, we will put "Virtual Librarian Wanted" at the top of that page and might post that URL one week later as an available URL to anyone.
  3. Please submit a resume for posting if you have at least two articles posted. We will post a detailed resume on http://www.everyoneswebhosting.com/writers/ with the resume that you submit. Please only provide professional or education information.
  4. If you would like, we can provide an e-mail address for the website where you are an "Virtual Librarian" (e.g., some-writer@1-tennessee.com) which will forward all e-mails to the e-mail address that you choose.
  5. To help promote your section of "Virtual Library", we encourage all of our writers to frequently check his/her assigned website (at least once a week). The contents of each website might be updated. It would also help if s/he takes pride of his/her "Virtual Library" and his/her article and invite friends to visit that URL.
  6. We will provide a list of keywords for each "Virtual Librarian" who has indicated interest for a website and has delivered an article which has been accepted and posted. Each keyword phrase in that list will have a number. This list will NOT be posted. For ongoing work for a "Virtual Library", we will request two keyword phrases at a time, one from the top of that list and the other from the bottom of that list. The "Virtual Librarian" shall look for the URL on the website and write for the URL which has the keyword phrase on the headline. If we do not have an URL for it, please let us know so that we may add that page.

Becoming a knowledgeable "Virtual Librarian" is the way to maintain a steady income. Once you are accepted as a "Virtual Librarian" for a sate-based or a city-based website, you will have a business page on the website to help you sell your services to get local businesses listed on that website and you can get paid for helping them.
